About Us
Empowering individual children to achieve their full potential
Our shared vision revolves around enabling and empowering individual students to achieve their potential within a learning environment based on Islamic teachings that are safe, positive, caring, inclusive and welcoming.

Our Educators
Our educators are leaders in the early childhood field who are fully qualified, ensuring that your kids receive the best education possible. Our educational initiatives are based on the Early Years Framework and the Islamic Curriculum Framework. Our educators are dedicated to enabling each child to realise their full potential and fostering sentiments of success and achievement.
Our educators strive to foster in your child a successful transition to early years schooling as well as lifetime love of learning through the delivery of our educational programmes.
Our Values
Ilim Learning Sanctuary is an affiliation of Ilim College and shares common values and visions. The Centre prides itself on being able to provide quality of care for children moving through each educational milestone from early learning, to primary and followed by secondary schooling.

Our Philosophy
The philosophy and teaching practices of Ilim Learning Sanctuary is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach. We believe and respect that children learn best by play. Play has cognitive, physical, emotional and social benefits for the child. Play is a time when children can make sense of their world and this is fostered throughout the program. We value and empower children to be active participants in their world. We involve them when making decisions, especially about matters that directly affect them. We listen to their views and respect what they have to say.

We create a safe haven which allows children a platform to express their views and influence their contribution. At Ilim Learning Sanctuary the environment is seen as the third educator. The indoors environment encourages participation and develops confident and involved learners. Our environment promotes independency and autonomous activities which are based on children's interests, needs and strengths.
Objects, tools and materials are displayed at the child's height and categorised for easier selection and aesthetics. There is a strong emphasis on sustainability using the outdoors as a natural learning environment. Recycled and natural objects are used as learning tools and mediums to express themselves. Art materials are selected to stimulate creativity and provide exposure to various forms of expression.
We encourage children to spend time outdoors in a natural setting which allows a connection and appreciation of the environment. Literacy, Numeracy and Islamic Studies are carefully integrated and embedded into the learning environment and program.
We value Child Safety practices and achieve the following outcomes by promoting pride, partnership, participation and protection of children.
Pride
We pride ourselves on creating a safe haven for children by providing an environment which they feel they can belong to.
Partnerships
We ensure a holistic approach to children's learning and development. We work collaboratively with families, educators and professionals to share information.
Participation
We empower all children to participate equally, which include children with disabilities, linguistically diverse backgrounds and Aboriginal children.
Protection
We take responsibility of protecting children seriously and have adopted a zero tolerance for any abuse. We believe it is a shared practice, which is adopted by educators, families and professionals.
